Telemann 360º – Two Great Pop-up Boat Cruises!

telemann 360Patriot Harbor Lines is excited to announce two great Pop-up Boat Cruises that will be part of  Telemann 360º in late September and early October.

Philadelphia Baroque Orchestra Tempesta di Mare’s Telemann 360º is a multidisciplinary week of events celebrating the life, times and oeuvre of German baroque composer Georg Philipp Telemann during the 250th anniversary of his death. We will be conducting two different Telemann focused cruises – a river cruise and a cruise to Bartram’s Garden.

During the festival running between October 11th and 19th, Tempesta will be performing two all-Telemann programs with their largest ensemble to date, including modern premieres. They will also be sponsoring a live interdisciplinary talk show, The Case for Telemann—hosted by Live from Lincoln Center’s Fred Child with prominent international scholars and journalists. Telemann 360º will include a collaboration with Philadelphia institutions to hold the first international Telemann conference to take place in America, mirroring the 24-year-old annual event in Magdeburg, Germany, Telemann’s birthplace. Pop-up events at museums, libraries and gardens across Philadelphia will add to the fun.

City Lights and Skyline Cruise – Our Newest Activity

Philadelphia’s skyline is incredible at night!

Sunset Clouds
While Philadelphia’s river sunsets are pretty spectacular and our daytime cruises are amazing, our best cruises happen at night. We have been racking our brains on how to get more guests out for cruises at night and we have come up with our City Lights and Skyline Cruise. Philadelphia’s unique skyline comes to life during this one-hour cruise on the Delaware. We even depart from Spruce Street Harbor Park and its enchanting multicolored lights.

With a tradition of constructing buildings with unique and interesting lighting features, Philadelphia’s skyline is experienced best by boat. During this evening river tour we explore the stunning Philadelphia skyline that has been known to throw its electric power behind a specific cause and related color. The Philly light spectacular includes:

  • A Center City skyline that has been known to turn yellow in support of the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Lemon Ball.
  • The Ben Franklin Bridge’s lights that routinely change color in support of a variety of causes.
  • Leading up to the July 4th holiday, the bridges and skyline turn red, white and blue as the city celebrates Independence Day.
  • The Battle Ship New Jersey fully dressed in lights.
  • After a big win, a skyline transformed from emerald green for the Eagles, orange and black for the Flyers and red, white and blue for our Phillies.
  • And every October, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our skyline turns pink in support of the cure.

Our yachts have fully stocked bars with a great selection of beer, wine and mixed drinks.

This is Philadelphia’s best night time cruise experience!

Meeting Location

We depart from the Seaport Museum dock at Penn’s Landing. The dock is attached to the Seaport boat shop at the North end of the marina adjacent to the Hilton Hotel. The Seaport Museum’s street address is 211 South Christopher Columbus Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

Please plan to arrive at the dock at least 15 minutes before our scheduled departure time. We cannot wait for late arrivals.

Cruise Party Planing 101!

If you are planning a party we have a variety of options. We offer both the Patriot and the Liberty for private parties. Our private charters are a minimum of 2 hours, but they can be extended. The Patriot is great for parties of up to 36 guests while the Liberty is perfect for up to 46. If you are planning a private event give us a call so we can discuss pricing.

If your check book or debit card are a little light for a full charter we can taylor an event where you host and organize the party, but each of your guests can purchase individual tickets. With this option, as the host you can also pay down the price of your guests tickets to ease their burden and to pay for a larger share of your party. A final party option is to organize a group on one of our public cruises. If you decide to go that route, we recommend giving us a call so that we can let you know the number of tickets available and provide you with a code to track your guests.
